The Drake Bulldogs visit Fifth Third Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio on Monday to play the Cincinnati Bearcats. The Bulldogs (1-0) opened their regular season with an 86-55 rout of Kennesaw State. D.J. Wilkins led the Bulldogs in the win with 19 points and four other players for Drake scored in double figures. The Bulldogs led at the half 39-19 and never were threatened after the break.

D.J. Wilkins leads Drake in scoring with an average of 19.0 points per game. Anthony Murphy is the leading rebounder with an average of 7.0 per game, while Roman Penn leads in assists with an average of 7.0 per game. Johan Jackson is second in scoring with an average of 15.0 points per game and among five Drake players averaging double figures in scoring.

Cincinnati (0-1) opened its regular season with a 64-56 loss to Ohio State. Keith Williams and Jarron Cumberland led the Bearcats in the loss with 13 points each. However, Cincinnati shot just 33% from the field and a horrendous 19% from third-point territory missing 17 of the 21 long range shots taken. Cincinnati led at the half by seven points but were outscored 45-30 after the break.

Jarron Cumberland and Keith Williams lead Cincinnati in scoring with an average of 13.0 point per game. Tre Scott leads the Bearcats in rebounding with an average of 12.0 per game, while Cumberland is the leader in assists with an average of 3.0 per game. Just three players are averaging double figures in scoring. 

Cincinnati lost a tough season opener to Ohio State, but has one of the nation’s better defenses. The Bearcats are known for a tenacious pressure defense that forces turnovers.
