DePaul fell to 11-7 on the season following it 79-69 loss to Marquette on Wednesday. The Blue Demons trailed by 14 points during the first half but were within four points with just over seven minutes remaining, but got no closer. Paul Reed led DePaul with 18 points.
Providence improved to 12-7 on the season and 2-4 in Big East play following its 64-62 win against Xavier. The Friars were led by Isaiah Jackson who scored 13 points. The win was the first on the road in Big East play this season for the Friars.
Max Strus leads DePaul in scoring and is second in rebounding with averages of 17.9 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. Eli Cain is the second leading scorer and leader in assists with averages of 12.9 points and 3.9 assists per game. Paul Reed is the leading rebounder with an average of 7.9 per game. DePaul is shooting 46.7% from the field and 32.3% from 3-point territory.
Alpha Diallo is the leading scorer and leading rebounder with averages of 16.8 points and 8.4 rebounds per game for Providence. A.J. Reeves is the second leading scorer with an average of 14.2 points per game. Diallo leads the Friars in assists as well with an average of 3.4 per game. Providence is shooting 43.4% from the field and 35.7% from 3-point territory.
