Day 2 of the CAA Conference Championship tournament will take place Monday night in Washington, DC as the Delaware Blue Hens take on the Towson Tigers. Delaware ended a three game losing streak with a 10 point win over Drexel in round one of the tournament. Defensively Delaware controlled the game holding Delaware to 37.9% shooting and 17.4% from beyond the arc leading to the double digit win.
Jyare Davis led all scorers for Delaware with 17 points and a team high 10 rebounds on 7/13 shooting in 29 minutes on the floor. Andrew Carr added 13 points and Jameer Nelson Jr. chipped in 11 points is the third player in double figures.
The Towson Tigers continued their tear through the conference with an opening round win to extend their win streak to eight games. Towson beat Northeastern 68-61 In 42% from the floor to score 68 points in the game including 41 in the second half to erase a one point halftime deficit.
Offensively this season Towson has been dominant averaging 73.9 points per game on 45.7% shooting as a team. Nicolas Timberlake leads the Towson offense averaging 14.3 points per game on 44.3% shooting. Cameron Holden is second of the team scoring 13.6 points to go along with a team high 8.1 rebounds and Charles Thompson chips in a third best 10.9 points.
