The Delaware Blue Hens will be in Washington, DC Sunday afternoon for the quarter final game of the CAA conference tournament against the Drexel Dragons. Delaware comes into the conference tournament seven games above .500 despite riding a three game losing streak. Delaware lost 69-57 to Towson to close out the regular season after shooting only 44% from the floor and 31.3% from beyond the arc.
Dylan Painter carried the Delaware offense posting a team high 19 points on seven of nine shooting in 24 minutes on the floor. Jameer Nelson Jr. added 14 points and Jyare Davis contributed 13 points to lead the way off the bench.
The Drexel Dragons come into the conference tournament two games above .500 after finishing the year with a one point win. Delaware beat the College of Charleston to close the regular season after scoring 80 points in the game on 48.6% shooting as a team.
Offensively this season Delaware has averaged 73.4 points per game on 46.6% shooting as a team. Camren Wynter leads the Delaware offense scoring 15.3 points per game to go along with a team high 4.7 assists. Xavier Bell is second on the team averaging 11.1 points per game and Amari Williams chips in 9.7 points and a team high 7.3 rebounds.
