The CSU Bakersfield Roadrunners make their way to Orem, UT on Thursday for a game against the Utah Valley Wolverines in a matchup of teams from the Western Athletic Conference.  In their last game, CSU Bakersfield was defeated by UMKC by the score of 59-53.  Greg Lee led the Roadrunners in scoring in the game with 13 points while shooting 5 of 12 from the field and 2 of 2 from the free throw line.  De’Monte Buckingham was the leading rebounder on the night for CSU Bakersfield as he pulled in 8 boards, including 1 coming offensively.  Taze Moore led the Roadrunners in assists in the game with 4 while playing a total of 29 minutes against UMKC.

After the loss to UMKC, CSU Bakersfield fell to 11-15 on the season and 5-6 in conference play, which is good enough for 5th place in the WAC.  Taze Moore has been the most consistent scorer this season for the Roadrunners as he has averaged 11.3 points per game while shooting 48.1% from the field and 65.3% from the free throw line.  De’Monte Buckingham leads CSU Bakersfield in rebounding this season with an average of 4.7 per game.  Czar Perry leads the Roadrunners in assists per game this year, with an average of 3.9.

The Utah Valley Wolverines welcome the CSU Bakersfield Roadrunners to town on Thursday after losing their last game to New Mexico State by the score of 84-82.  Isaiah White led the Wolverines in scoring with 21 points while shooting 7 of 12 from the field and 4 of 4 from the free throw line.  Casdon Jardine led Utah Valley in rebounds in the game with a total of 6, including 2 coming offensively.  T.J. Washington was the leader in assists for the Wolverines with 8, while playing a total of 31 minutes in the game against New Mexico State.

With the loss to New Mexico State, Utah Valley is now 9-17 on the season and 3-8 in conference play, placing the Wolverines in 8th place in the Western Athletic Conference.  T.J. Washington leads the Wolverines in scoring this season with an average of 12.9 points per game while shooting 35.2% from the field and 76.1% from the free throw line.  Washington also leads Utah Valley in assists per game with an average of 4.1.  Casdon Jardine has been the leading rebounder on the year for the Wolverines with an average of 5 rebounds per game.

The CSU Bakersfield Roadrunners have scored an average of 69.7 points per game this season while allowing 68.1 points per game.  The Utah Valley Wolverines have scored 70.2 point per game this year while allowing 71.5 points per game.  In their last 5 games, both teams are 1-4 and Utah Valley has lost 4 games in a row.  In their first meeting of the season, CSU Bakersfield came away with a 58-57 overtime victory.  This should be a close game, just like their first meeting of the season that ended in overtime.  Both teams are extremely close statistically, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if this one went into overtime as well. The Roadrunners are just 3-9 when playing on the road this season and I believe the Wolverines have the edge due to their home court advantage.  Final score prediction, Utah Valley Wolverines win and cover ATS, 60-56.
