The World’s Most Famous Arena will host a Big East Tournament semifinal battle between the UConn Huskies and the Villanova Wildcats. The 20th ranked Huskies (23-8) finished seven games above .500 in conference play and are arguably the most talented team in the field. Last night, UConn built an 11-point halftime lead and cruised to a 62-52 victory versus Seton Hall.
Tyrese Martin and R.J. Cole led UConn with 17 points apiece on a combined 12-for-26 from the field. Isaiah Whaley added ten points and seven rebounds for the Huskies.

The Villanova Wildcats won 16 of their 20 regular season conference games and are allowing 63.6 points per contest. Last night, Villanova stormed back from a 17-point second half deficit to escape with a 66-65 victory versus St. John’s The eighth-ranked Wildcats (24-7) converted 17-for-20 from the charity stripe and shot just 36 percent from the field.
Villanova G Caleb Daniels nailed 5-for-9 from long distance and finished with a team-high 19 points. Senior G Collin Gillespie chipped in 14 points and six rebounds for the Wildcats.
