The Columbia Lions enter the game with a 12-11 overall record and a 1-9 mark in Ivy League play. In their most recent outing on February 21, 2025, the Lions fell to Brown 86-61. First-year guards Gerard O'Keefe and Gianni Cobb each contributed 16 points in the loss, with O'Keefe scoring in double figures for the fourth consecutive game. Forward Blair Thompson was dominant on the boards, securing a game-high 14 rebounds. 

The Yale Bulldogs boast a 17-6 overall record, including a spotless 10-0 record in Ivy League play. They are currently on an eleven-game winning streak, with their most recent victory being a 92-88 triumph over Cornell. In their previous matchup against Columbia on January 18, 2025, the Bulldogs secured a 92-88 win, overcoming a one-point halftime deficit. Yale has turned it on tremendously in conference play behind the performances of John Poulakidas. Yale is an incredibly efficient team, almost unsustainably so with their 50% field goal percentage. Columbia had high expectations for the year, but injuries to their top players have completely derailed the season.
