With the win against Appalachian State, Coastal Carolina is now 15-15 on the season and 8-11 in conference play, placing the Chanticleers in 8th place in the Sun Belt Conference.  DeVante Jones has been the leading scorer this season for the Chanticleers has he has scored 16.7 points per game while shooting 48.5% from the field and 85.8% from the free throw line.  Jones also leads Coastal Carolina in assists per game with an average of 5.7.  Tommy Burton has been the leading rebounder on the season for the Chanticleers as he has averaged 7.4 rebounds per game, including an average of 3 coming offensively.

The Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns welcome the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers to town on Tuesday after losing their last game to Arkansas-Little Rock by the score of 91-69.  Mylik Wilson led Louisiana-Lafayette in scoring on the day with 18 points while shooting 8 of 12 from the field and 2 of 2 from the free throw line.  Wilson also led the Ragin’ Cajuns in assists in the game with 4 while playing a total of 36 minutes.  Dou Gueye was the leading rebounder in the game for Louisiana-Lafayette as he pulled in 13 rebounds, with 3 coming offensively.

After the loss to Arkansas-Little Rock, Louisiana-Lafayette is 12-18 on the season and 7-12 in conference play, which is good enough for 9th place in the Sun Belt.  Jalen Johnson has been the leading scorer on the year for the Ragin’ Cajuns as he has averaged 15.2 points per game on the year while shooting 42.7% from the field and 82.2% from the free throw line.  Johnson also leads Louisiana-Lafayette in rebounds per game with an average of 6.6. with 2.3 coming offensively.  Mylik Wilson leads the Ragin’ Cajuns in assists per game this season with an average of 2.7.

The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers have scored an average of 78.1 points per game this season while allowing 75.9 points per game.  The Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns have scored 71.8 points per game while allowing 75.5 points per game.  Both teams are 2-3 in their last 5 games.  Louisiana-Lafayette has won 2 of the last 3 matchups between these two teams by the average score of 81-76.67.  Coastal Carolina is 6-5 when playing on the road this season and 5-6 ATS while Louisiana is 8-6 at home and 5-8-1 against the spread.  The two teams match up evenly on defense as they have allowed the same amount of points per game, but the Coastal Carolina offense has scored 7 more points per game than Louisiana-Lafayette which gives the Chanticleers the advantage in my opinion.  Final score prediction, Coastal Carolina Chanticleers win and cover ATS, 80-74.
