The Chicago State Cougars visit Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois on Wednesday to play the DePaul Blue Demons. Chicago State improved to 3-8 on the season with an 80-72 win over Eastern Illinois. The Cougars were led by Travon Bell with 16 points. Chicago State has now won three straight after opening the season with eight straight losses.
DePaul squandered a 15-point lead on Saturday and lost to Northwestern 75-68. DePaul led 57-42 with less than 10 minutes remaining in the second half. The loss snapped DePaul’s two-game winning streak. The Blue Demons were led in the loss by Femi Olujobi with 22 points and Devin Gage with 17.
Anthony Harris is the leading scoring and rebounder for Chicago State with averages of 15.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. Rob Shaw is the second leading scorer and leader in assists with averages of 11.7 points and 6.1 assists per game. Chicago State is shooting 43.2% from the field and 26.6% from 3-point territory.
Max Strus leads DePaul in scoring and in rebounding with averages of 17.0 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. Eli Cain is the second leading scorer and leader in assists with averages of 13.6 points and 4.9 assists per game. DePaul is shooting 45.3% from the field and 28.0% from 3-point territory.
