The Charlotte 49ers will play a CBI tournament semifinal game Tuesday night in Daytona Beach against the Radford Highlanders. Charlotte comes into Tuesday with twenty wins on the year following an 11 point victory over Milwaukee in the quarterfinal. Defensively Charlotte was the better team allowing only 65 points on 47.3% shooting and forced 20 turnovers in the win as well. Offensively Charlotte dominated scoring 76 points after a 42 point second half on 48.3% shooting and 40.7% from beyond the arc.
Brice Williams led the way for the Charlotte offense pouring in a team high 25 points on 16 shots in the game. Jackson Threadgill added a 2nd best 17 points on ten shots, while the other three Charlotte starters combined to score 14 total points. Lu’Cye Patterson led the way off the Charlotte bench with 13 points on six shots from the floor.
Radford rolls into Tuesday night following an upset victory against San Jose State on Monday. Defensively Radford dominated the game allowing only 57 points on 35.7% shooting and the Highlanders forced 12 turnovers, to go along with 40 rebounds to secure the win. Offensively Radford dominated making just under 42% of their shots and knocked down 6 long balls to score 67 points including 41 in the second half to erase a two point halftime deficit.
DaQuan Smith led the way for Radford with 16 points on 16 shots in 31 minutes of action. Shaquan Jules and Bryan Antoine each chipped in 10 points apiece, while the other two Radford starters added 11 total points in the game as well. Kenyon Giles led all scorers off the Radford bench with 11 points on nine shots in 18 minutes of action.
