Charlotte vs Eastern Kentucky 3/22/23 - College Basketball Picks & Predictions

The Charlotte 49ers come into the CBI championship game Wednesday with 21 wins on the year following a seven point victory over Radford on Tuesday. Defensively Charlotte was the better team allowing just 56 points on 41.3% shooting and 15.4% from beyond the arc, while forcing 9 turnovers as well. Offensively Charlotte did just enough pouring in 46.5% of their shots and knocked down six long balls and 17 free throws to score 63 points resulting in the victory.

Brice Williams orchestrated the Charlotte offense posting a team high 14 points and 11 rebounds on 11 shots in the game. Isaiah Folkes chipped in 11 points on seven shots, while the other three Charlotte starters combined to score 16 total points. Lu’Cye Patterson led the way off the Charlotte bench with 13 points on eight shots in the victory.

The Eastern Kentucky Colonels come into the championship game on Wednesday with 23 wins on the year following a narrow 2 point victory over Southern Utah in double overtime on Tuesday. Defensively Eastern Kentucky struggled but did just enough as Southern Utah scored 106 points but only 21 in overtime on 48.1% shooting from the floor. Defensively Eastern Kentucky also forced 22 turnovers, while the offense poured in 108 points on nearly 51% shooting in the game.

Isaiah Cozart  led the way for the Eastern Kentucky offense with 31 points and 13 rebounds in 41 minutes of action. Devontae Blanton chipped in 24 points, while Tayshawn Comer added a third best 15 points and five assists in 36 minutes of action. Cooper Robb scored 14 points in 44 minutes as the 4th Eastern Kentucky starter in double figures, while Leland Walker posted a team high 16 points in 38 minutes off the bench.
