Charlotte at Middle Tennessee 1/19/23 - College Basketball Picks & Predictions

The Charlotte 49ers go back on the road Thursday night to Tennessee for a matchup with the Middle Tennessee blue Raiders. Charlotte comes into Thursday night six games above .500 despite losing three of the last four games including a two point loss to UTEP in their last game.

Defensively Charlotte struggled as UTEP scored 60 points including 33 in the first half on 49% shooting and 46.2% from beyond the arc. Offensively Charlotte did shoot the ball well making 47.8% of their shots but made only 66.7% from the free throw line and turned the ball over 14 times in the loss.

Brice Williams is the offensive leader for Charlotte this season averaging 11.8 points per game on 48.3% shooting from the floor. Aly Khalifa Is second on the team scoring 10.8 points as the only other player in double figures to go along with a team leading 7.1 rebounds per game, while Igor Milicic Jr. averages 9.5 points per game as well. Lu’Cye Patterson Is averaging a fourth best 8.8 points and lead Charlotte averaging 3.4 assists per game.

Middle Tennessee remains at home Thursday night four games above .500 following a one point overtime win against UAB. Defensively Middle Tennessee was outstanding allowing only 73 points including just seven in the overtime on 31.6% shooting and the Blue Raiders forced 12 turnovers in the game. Offensively Middle Tennessee was by far the better team scoring 74 points on 43.3% shooting to get the victory.

Deandre Dishman leads the Middle Tennessee offense this season averaging 12.5 points on 54.7% shooting to go along with a team high 5.8 rebounds per game period Eli Lawrence is second on the team scoring 12.3 points per game and Teafale Lenard Jr. chips in 9.3 points per game as well. Camryn Weston scores 9.3 points and leads Middle Tennessee averaging 2.6 assists per game as well.
