In Thursday afternoon college basketball action, the Campbell Fighting Camels will travel to Winthrop Coliseum to face the Winthrop Eagles. The Fighting Camels started the season on a four-game winning streak, but limp into this contest losers of three straight. Last Monday, Campbell managed just 19 points during the first half of a 78-59 home loss versus UNC Wilmington.

Cedric Henderson Jr. tallied a game-high 23 points on 9-for-19 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds. The rest of the Campbell starters combined for just 16 points on 7-for-23 from the field.

The Winthrop Eagles have won five straight games to start the season and sit atop the Big South Conference standings with two victories. Last time out, Winthrop built a 20-point halftime lead and cruised to an 87-71 home victory versus Furman. The Eagles assisted on 18 of their 30 made field goals and shot 54 percent overall.

Winthrop G Charles Falden led all scorers with 18 points on 7-for-12 shooting and added three steals. Russell Jones Jr. chipped in 12 points and four rebounds in 18 minutes off the bench for the Eagles.
