The Cal Poly Mustangs visit Icardo Center in Bakersfield, California on Tuesday to play the CSU Bakersfield Roadrunners. Cal Poly fell to 3-6 on the season following its 67-66 loss to California. The Mustangs led the game with 3.8 seconds remaining but an Paris Austin jumper swished for the Bears and the Mustangs went down to defeat. Donovan Fields led the Mustangs in the loss with 26 points.
CSU Bakersfield improved to 6-4 on the season with an 86-65 win over Lamar. The Roadrunners were led by Rickey Holden with 20 points and nine assists while Taze Moore chipped in with 14 points and three blocked shots.
Donovan Fields leads the Mustangs in scoring and assists with averages of 17.0 points and 4.0 assists per game. Hank Hollingsworth is the leader in rebounding with an average of 5.8 per game. The Mustangs are shooting 42.5% from the field and 33.3% from 3-point territory.
Jarkel Joiner leads CSU Bakersfield in scoring with an average of 11.7 points per game. Two other Roadrunners are averaging double figures in scoring. James Suber is the leading rebounder with an average of 7.8 boards per game. The leader in assists is Ricky Holden with an average of 5.0 per game. CSU Bakersfield is shooting 43.1% from the field and 36.8% from 3-point territory.
