Big Ten Conference 2020-21- College Basketball Preview

The Big Ten is known more as a football conference and with a lot of the teams that are in the Big Ten it is easy to see why the Big Ten is a sleeper conference for basketball. Look for the Big Ten to have some good potential here and that could help the Big Ten out quite a bit in the conference and potential move up to the tournament this year.

Wisconsin is one very lucky team on the year so far and it could definitely need the luck to win the Big Ten this year. Look for the Badgers to play good in the season as they are returning almost the entire roster from last year.

Iowa is one team that could be a true threat this year with Luke Garza coming back and that returns almost all the top 8 scorers for Iowa. The problem is the Hawkeyes have to cope with players coming back from injury this year and that could make it difficult for the Iowa team to mesh together.

Ayo Dosunmu and Kofi Cokburn are coming back for Illinois on the season and that could help them be seen as a threat. Now, the threat will be realized if the Illinois team is able to start better in the games and bring home the wins in the close games.

Michigan State is one team that has quite a few players coming back on the year. The downside is the players coming back are not named Cassius Winston who was the heart and soul of the Spartans.

Ohio State is coming towards the season with a lot of good things going for them like Justice Sueing and Seth Towns being eligible on the year for extra offense. The downside is the Buckeyes did lose quite a talent.

Rutgers is playing good at home on the year, but the big issue for the Scarlet Knights is they are unable to win on the road.

Indiana is coming in looking to play like the football team and win quite a few games. The Hoosiers are coming to the season with Khristian Lander. Now, the big problem  is the Hoosiers lost talented star Justin Smith.

The Wolverines are coming to the season with a lot of high powered recruits. The problem for the Wolverines is those recruits have to adjust to the new level of play in the Big Ten this year.

Minnesota could have a good season or a bad one. It really depends on how Marcus Carr returns and if he is allowed to play this year. Now, if he cannot come back with the loss of Daniel Oturu it could be hard to see Minnesota being a threat.

Purdue is bringing back Trevion Williams who has looked impressive at times in his career. Ethan Morton will have to produce for the freshman this year, but the real hard part for the Boilermakers is the lack of seniors.

Jalen Smith and Anthony Cowan Jr. are gone from the team last year for the Terrapins. Now, the big problem for Maryland outside of those2 players leaving is the fact that the Terrapins will be relying on some younger players to pull back the wins.

Penn State is one team that looks like they could match the football team this year. The Nittany Lions are bringing back Myreon Jones who has been great at shooting.

Northwestern is one team that could have some serious issues. The Wildcats have no seniors on the team for leadership help, but also the Wildcats are bringing back only 10 scholarship players.

The Cornhuskers are coming to the game here with a good group of players, but almost all are new. Look for the same problem to come up this year for Hoiberg who has quite a few players coming back this year that are new.
