The Louisville Cardinals kick off their eason at home Wednesday night when they host the Bellarmine Knights. The Cardinals finished last season with a 13-19 record. Louisville went 6-14 against ACC opponents. The Cardinals averaged 67 points per game a season ago while allowed 71 points per game.

The Louisville Cardinals brought on Kenny Payne for his first season as head coach. Last season was Louisville's first losing season that most people can remember. The Cardinals bring back seven returning players from last season. Louisville should cruise through their first three games this season before they see any true competition

The Bellarmine Knights finished last season with a winning 20-13 record. The Knights went 11-5 against Conference opponents. Bellamine averaged 70 points scored per game last season while allowing 67 points per game.  The Knights enter their third season as a Division 1 team in the A-Sun division.

The Bellarmine Knights would have made the Ncaa Tournament last season but they are still not eligible until next season. The Knights bring back four key players from a year ago including their top scorer Alec Pfriem. Head coach Scott Davenport enters his 18th season at the helm for the Knights. Bellarmine has another tough schedule ahead of them but has some good talent to make another good run. The Knights did have a ten game win streak last season at their best time.
