Ball State at Bowling Green 1/28/20 - College Basketball Picks & Predictions

The Ball State Cardinals are set to visit Stroh Center in Bowling Green, Ohio for a MAC clash against the Bowling Green Falcons. The Ball State Cardinals come into this matchup with an 11-8 record, and they will be looking to rebound after dropping their recent road game against the Central Michigan Chippewas, 71-66. Leading the way for the Ball State Cardinals was senior forward Tahjai Teague as he recorded 17 points and 18 rebounds. Freshman guard Luke Bumbalough had a productive outing for the Cardinals as he pitched in 13 points.

The Ball State Cardinals had a solid shooting game against the Central Michigan Chippewas as they connected on 22 of their 49 field goal attempts (44.9%), but they were significantly worse from behind the three-point line (26.3%). The Ball State Cardinals lost the turnover battle against the Central Michigan Chippewas (28-16), but they edged out the Chippewas in the rebounding department (42-31).

The Bowling Green Falcons come into this matchup with a 15-5 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after winning their recent road game against the Toledo Rockets, 85-79. Leading the way for the Bowling Green Falcons was senior guard Dylan Frye as he recorded 22 points and 6 assists. Joining Frye in the backcourt was junior guard Justin Turner who had a productive outing for the Falcons with 20 points.

The Bowling Green Falcons had a good shooting game against the Toledo Rockets as they connected on 28 of their 59 field goal attempts (47.5%), and they were even better from behind the three-point line (52.4%). The Bowling Green Falcons lost the turnover battle against the Toledo Rockets (8-4), but they edged out the Rockets in the rebounding department (40-32).

The Bowling Green Falcons have been one of the top teams in the MAC as they bring an overall record of 15-5 into this matchup with a 6-1 mark in conference play, but they have also been excellent at home with a 9-1 record. The Falcons have had little problems scoring the basketball this season as they are averaging 75.7 PPG, and they have a dynamic backcourt with Justin Turner averaging 17.6 PPG, Dylan Frye pitching in 14.5 PPG, and Daeqwon Plowden sitting just below that with 13.5 PPG. Ball State has been excellent on the defensive side of the court, especially in MAC play as they are holding their opponents to an average of 64.2 PPG, but their struggles have been finding enough scoring as they only average 69.2 PPG. The Falcons are the better team in this matchup, and I think their scoring gets them past the Cardinals at home. Final Score Prediction, Bowling Green Falcons win and cover ATS 71-65.
