The Arkansas Razorbacks visit Reed Arena in College Station, Texas on Saturday for an SEC battle against the Texas A&M Aggies. Arkansas needed a strong second half surge to defeat Austin Peay on Friday 76-65 and improve to 9-3 on the season. Keyshawn Embery-Simpson scored 14 points during the second half to help rally the Razorbacks to victory.
Texas A&M continues to struggle with consistency as the Aggies fell to 6-5 on the season following an 88-73 loss to Texas Southern. The Aggies trailed at the half by 13 points and quickly reduced that to just four, but could not take control or the lead and eventually, faltered late in the second half to lose by 15. Wendell Mitchell led the Aggies in the loss with 21 points.
Daniel Gafford leads Arkansas in scoring and rebounding with averages of 17.5 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. Two other players are averaging double figures in scoring for Arkansas. Jalen Harris leads the team in assists with an average of 6.7 per game. Arkansas is shooting 46.0% from the field and 35.6% from 3-point territory.
TJ Starks is the leading scorer and leader in assists with averages of 13.5 points and 4.0 assists per game for Texas A&M. Savion Flagg is the second leading scorer and leads the Aggies in rebounding with averages of 12.0 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. Texas A&M is shooting 43.1% from the field and 29.1% from 3-point territory.
