Appalachian State at Coastal Carolina 1/15/22 - College Basketball Picks & Predictions

The HTC Center in Conway, SC will host a Sun Belt matchup Saturday afternoon between the Appalachian State Mountaineers and the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. Appalachian State comes into Saturday .500 on the year with a 9-9 record overall following a one point win against this Coastal Carolina team earlier this week. The Appalachian State defense led to the win earlier this season as Coastal Carolina shot 26 of 59 from the floor and made only 15.8% of their three pointers leading to the loss. Offensively App State struggled as well making only 34.9% of their shots and 34.4% from beyond the arc but led by 7 at the half and road that lead to the victory.

Adrian Delph was the leading scorer in the Appalachian State offense with 16 points on 6 of 16 shooting in 36 minutes. Donovan Gregory and Michael Almonacy each chipped  in a second best 10 points.

The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers limp back home on Saturday riding a two game losing streak after the loss to Appalachian State. Vince Cole provided the biggest spark within the Coastal Carolina lineup with 25 points on 10 of 19 shooting in 37 minutes on the floor.

Big man Essam Mostafa added 19 points and 14 rebounds as the only other Chanticleer in double figures. Essam Mostafa is the biggest offensive threat for Coastal Carolina averaging a team high 16.1 points per game to go along with a team leading 10.1 rebounds. Vince Cole leads  the team in scoring with 14.2 points per game on 43.1% shooting, while Rudi Williams adds 12.6 points as the only other Chanticleer  averaging double figures.
