Keeneland is going to kick the day off with a high purse in the tracks first race at 1:00 PM on Thursday 4/14/22. The race is being run on dirt and is a maiden special weight and is 4 1/2 furlongs. The purse is for 80,000 dollars and has 9 horses coming out of the race.

Coming out of the first post is Baytown Melody who has 5/1 odds. Baytown Melody is entering in the first race here of the career start. Baytown Melody has been trained by Paul McEntee and is Owens by Cheryl McEntee and Resolute Racing LLC. Baytown Melody has ran 4 furlongs in training in 50 flat before.

The second post has Rosa de Ruby coming out at 20/1 odds. Coming here Rosa de Ruby is getting into the first race of the career and has been trained by Kelly A. Fernandez, but is owned by John Acevedo. Rosa de Ruby has only run 2 furlongs in reported training and finished in 24 seconds at the fastest time.

The third post has Devious Stares coming out at 1/1 odds. As with most entrants Devious Stares comes to the first race as well. The trainer is Wesley Ward who is also owner along with Mrs. Charlies O’Connor. In a 4 furlong training session Devious Stares did finish it in 48.80.

All the Envy is coming in at 5/1 odds and out of the fourth post. All the Envy is coming in to the first rate being trained by Jerred Mitchell and owned by Carol Ricker. The longest run in training thats been timed and reported was a 3 furlong run in 38.20.

Recio’s Baytown comes out of the fifth post and is sitting at 5/1 odds as well. The owner of Recio’s Baytown is McEntee Racing Inc and Resolute Racing Alliance LLC, but the trainer is Paul McEntee. The last workout session for Recio’s Baytown was a 3 furlong run at Keeneland and finished in 36.40.

Ski Slope will have a slippery slope coming out of the 6th post and sitting at 15/1 odds. Ski Slope is owned and trained by Robert B. McCutchen. In the last workout at Keeneland Ski Slope ran 4 furlongs in 48.80.

The seventh post has Double Overtime coming out of it sitting at 4/1 odds. Double Overtime is owned by Ricky Dunn and trained by Eric R. Reed. The longest dirt run for Double Overtime is 3 furlongs with it finished in 37 seconds.

In the 8th post is Hurricane Debbie who has 1/1 odds as well. Hurricanes Debbie is trained by Wesley A. Ward and owned by Gabriel Duignan and Mrs. Charlie O’Connor. The last training for Hurricane Debbie was a 4 furlong run at Keeneland with it finished in 48.80.

Becky Thatcher comes out of the 9th post with 6/1 odds. The training for Becky Thatcher is John A. Hancock and the other is Roger Mack Burton and Donna G. Hancock. The last 4 furlong workout was in March at Keeneland with it finished in 50.20.

It would be easy to see that one of the 1/1 favorites would be the horse to back. However, in this instance look for a shocker to come from the horse at 5/1 odds in Recio’s Baytown. Granted, Recio’s Baytown has not run more than 3 furlongs in a workout and the timing could be a challenge, but look for the holdout to come in the extra 1/2 a furlong before Recio’s Baytown wins the race. Keeneland Race 1 Winner Prediction, Recio’s Baytown.
