Breeders' Cup Turf 11/04/23 - Horse Racing Picks & Predictions

On November 3-4 Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California will host the 40th annual Breeders’ Cup World Championships. Be prepared for all the Breeders Cup action with our horse racing picks. Fourteen races will be run over the two-day event with total awards and purses in excess of $31 million. The Breeders’ Cup World Championship is the sports’ premier racing event of the year. The world's best thoroughbreds will take part following qualifying races that took place across the globe.

The Breeders’ Cup Turf is 1 ½-miles for three year olds and older with the field open to both males and females. This is the longest of all the races in the two-day World Championships. The race attracts the best turf horses from North America and Europe and has a purse of $4 million. The race demands speed, strength and endurance. A maximum of 14 entries are permitted.

Most Ahdaf has the best morning line odds at 5 to 2, while two others are close at 3 to 1. Most Ahdaf won for the first time in 2023 at the Neom Turf Cup on February 25 in Saudi Arabia then in Dubai finished fourth on March 25. Following nearly three months off, he won in England then added another victory on August 23 at York. Most Ahdaf will be hard to beat on Saturday.

Auguste Rodin, who is currently 3 to 1, will be ridden by Ryan Moore with Aidan P. O’Brien the trainer. Expectations from the start have been high for this thoroughbred since a season debut on May 6 that ended in disappointment with a 12th place finish. Just a month later he won by a half-length, then won a dual Derby with victories in the English/Irish Derby when defeating Adelaide River on July 2.

With trainer Aidan O’Brien having won this a record six times, any horse the Irish trainer has in the field must be highly respected. That is why I am taking Auguste Rodin to win. The English/Irish dual derby winner has had a mercurial 2023 and has just one direction to go and that is higher with a win on Saturday to end a season that began with big disappointment but ends with a Breeders’ Cup win. Pick: Auguste Rodin.
