Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies 11/03/23 - Horse Racing Picks & Predictions
On November 3-4 Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California will host the 40th annual Breeders’ Cup World Championships. Be prepared for all the Breeders Cup action with our horse racing picks. Fourteen races will be run over the two-day event with total awards and purses in excess of $31 million. The Breeders’ Cup World Championship is the sports’ premier racing event of the year. The world's best thoroughbreds will take part following qualifying races that took place across the globe.
The Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies is restricted to just 2-year old females. The race is 11/16 in length and is a test both of endurance and strength for the best 2-year-old fillies in the world. The current favorite is Tamara at 4 to 5 but Candied at 4 to 1 cannot be overlooked as well as several other starters.
Tamara will be ridden by Mike Smith and is trained by Richard E. Mandella. The 2-year-old filly debuted on August 19th at Del Mar and despite stumbling early in the 6 ½ furlong event, recovered to stalk the front runners and overtook the leaders to win by more than two lengths. Tamara also was victorious next time out in Del Mar on September 9th winning by nearly seven lengths.
Candied will be ridden by Luis Saez and is trained by Todd A. Fletcher. Candid has been a new winner with only two victories thus far but both victories were against strong fields including winning at Saratoga on August 20th in a 6 furlong Maiden special weight. A jump up in class on October 6th did not bother her as she won by one length in an 11/16 event.
While she may be pushed by Candied, Tamara will outlast the field in this event with her strength and endurance from start to finish. Tamara has had a few problems leaving the gate but has been able to recover quickly and outclass her opponents and this event on Friday should be no different as Tamara will be guided well by Mike Smith and will reach the winner circle after winning by at least two lengths.
