Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf 11/04/23 - Horse Racing Picks & Predictions

On November 3-4 Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California will host the 40th annual Breeders’ Cup World Championships. Be prepared for all the Breeders Cup action with our horse racing picks. Fourteen races will be run over the two-day event with total awards and purses in excess of $31 million. The Breeders’ Cup World Championship is the sports’ premier racing event of the year. The world's best thoroughbreds will take part following qualifying races that took place across the globe.

The Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf is quite self-explanatory at 1 ¼ miles with a $2 million purse. This is without a doubt a race that will have the best female turf horses in the world. The race takes place across two turns and many eyes will be focused on the international contenders as over half are from overseas.

The current holder of the best odds at 5 to 2 is Inspiral, who is trained by John H.M. Gosden but does not yet have a confirmed jockey. The 4 year old rallied from a poor start to win easily back in June of 2021 in her inaugural race. The lineage is strong and the speed is there, the only unknown thus far is who will be on board and can he/she guide Inspiral to the winner’s circle.

The next best odds are held by Warm Heart from Ireland. Ryan Moore will be on board and Aidan O’Brien is the trainer. Warm Heart displayed a great deal of heart by holding off the challenge from a fast charging Free Wind at York on August 24th to win by a head. In eight career starts, Warm Heart has five wins and one place with career earnings of $970,558.

I am not taking either one of the two best odds in this matchup, I prefer In Italian who has the third best odds at 4 to 1. Ridden by Joel Rosario and trained by Chad C. Brown, In Italian has seven wins in 13 career starts with five places and one show putting her in the money in each of her starts. This two turn event will be to her liking and in the end she will fend off all challenges to cross the wire first. Pick: In Italian.
