On Friday November 4, Day 1 of the 2022 Breeders' Cup will be run at Keeneland and will highlight the upcoming stars of horse racing. Friday's card is known as the Future Stars Friday, which includes five races and purse money totaling $7 million. Two of the races have a purse of $2 million each and the other three have a purse of $1 million each.
The fifth and final race on Friday's card at Keeneland is the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf, which has a $1 million purse and is one mile in length. Andthewinneris (5-to-1) raced from the back of the pack to overtake the entire field and set a record at the Castle & Key Bourbon Stakes, which was also raised here at Keeneland. That outcome bodes well for Andthewinneris, who will put fear into the others due to a strong kick.
Packs a Wahlop (6-to-1) was the winner of the Del Mar Zuma Beach Stakes and must be given plenty of respect in this matchup. Silver Knott (3-to-1), cannot be overlooked on Friday after winning the Autumn Stakes and Solario Stakes in 2022. Trainer Charles Appleby is a highly respected Breeders’ Cup trainer who has visited the winners circle.
Another strong entry that must not be overlooked is Webslinger (20-to-1), who won the Monmouth Park Nownownow in New Jersey that had a purse of $500,000. Webslinger is not being respected by oddsmakers at 20-to-1 but after a fine performance in Jersey needs to be given respect from other riders as well as bettors.
Webslinger, trained by Mark Casse, will win as a 20-to-1 longshot on Friday. Charles Appleby trained Silver Knott, at 3-to-1, will be in the lead down the stretch but will be overtaken by Webslinger at the wire. Also factoring into the equation on Friday will be I’m Very Busy as the 9-to-2 favorite but will not be any match for Webslinger on the home stretch. Winner: Webslinger 20-to-1.
