2021 Haskell Stakes 7/17/21 - Horse Racing Picks & Predictions
The Haskell Stakes is the race that a lot of people consider to be the kickoff race for the summer race. Yes, summer has been in full swing for several weeks now, but for the horse racing this is the race that will make the summer up and with that being said you may recognize some of the horses in the race.
Hot Rod Charlie is coming in at 6-5 and is the favorite in the race here. However, Hot Rod Charlie has had some time off since coming in second at the Belmont Stakes. What could make this interesting is the time off, but also the fact that this is going to be one of the rematch races from March with Midnight Bourbon running again.
Following Sea is another favorite that could run strong in the race here. However, Following Sea is definitely one horse that has to be looked at longingly as the Spendthrift Farm did end up moving him from training with Bob Baffert to Todd Pletcher. Granted, Todd Pletcher is not really a step down, but definitely does not carry the same name weight as Baffert.
