Charles Schwab Challenge - PGA Odds, Picks, & Betting Predictions

Last Updated: 06/08/2020 at 10:23 AM ET

On Thursday June 11th, the PGA tour returns to action as players will tee off at the Colonial Country Club in the Charles Schwab Challenge. Following a lengthy layoff due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the projected field for the tournament is one of the strongest the event has seen in many years.  Spectators will not be allowed to watch the golfers during the four-day event due to the new protocols instituted by the PGA related to Covid-19. Several of the biggest names in golf will take part in the event that tees off Thursday and concludes on Sunday.

The Colonial Country Club is slightly more than 7,200 yards, which is considered short for today's professional golfers and has just two Par 5s and several Par 4s that are 400 to 450 yards in length. Length is not as important on this course, but accuracy is the key thanks to a thick rough lining the fairways and surrounding the greens. Kevin Na returns as the defending champion after winning last year’s event while Justin Rose, Kevin Kisner, Jordan Spieth and Chris Kirk have also won the event in the last five years.

Oddsmakers have made the World’s No. 1 Rory McIlroy the odds-on favorite at +750, but just behind is the No.2 ranked player in the world Jon Rahm at +900. Top ranked players litter the field as Justin Thomas, Webb Simpson, Dustin Johnson, Bryson Dechambeau, Brooks Koepka, Patrick Reed,  Rickie Fowler and Sungjae Im are scheduled to appear.

Odds to Win Charles Schwab Challenge

  • Rory McIlroy                  +750
  • Jon Rahm                      +1000
  • Justin Thomas              +1400
  • Bryson DeChambeau  +2000
  • Webb Simpson             +2000
  • Brooks Koepka             +2500
  • Dustin Johnson            +2500
  • Patrick Reed                 +2800
  • Rickie Fowler               +2800
  • Sungjae Im                   +2800
  • Xander Schauffele      +2800
  • Scottie Scheffler         +3300
  • Collin Morikawa         +4000
  • Gary Woodland          +4000
  • Jordan Spieth             +4000
  • Justin Rose                +4000
  • Marc Leishman          +4000
  • Tony Finau                  +4000
  • Byeong Hun An          +5000
  • Kevin Na                     +5000

Rickie Fowler is not one of the favorites to win this tournament but the course suits the Oklahoma State alumni very well. Fowler's approach is one of his strong suits as well as his overall iron play and both are important at Colonial. Although Fowler has not played this event many times in the past he did participate last year but did not make the cut. However, Fowler is one of the few players in the field who has recently played the course after he and teammate Matthew Wollf were defeated by Rory McElroy and Dustin Johnson in a charity event. Final Pick Prediction, Rickie Fowler to win
