2021 Valspar Championship 4/29/21 - PGA Picks, Odds & Betting Predictions

Last Updated: 04/27/2021 at 3:44 PM ET

The PGA Tour returns to Florida for the last time during the 2020-21 schedule this week for the Valspar Tournament that begins on Thursday. Another strong field will tee off in Thursday's opening-round at the Innisbrook Resort Copperhead course in Palm Harbor, Florida. Three of the world’s top seven ranked players will take part this week. The defending Champion is Paul Casey, who is ranked No. 25 in the world entering this event.

The Copperhead course is a 7,340-yards par 71 located just outside of Tampa. The course is one of the more difficult on the tour. In 2019, Copperhead was the third toughest on the PGA tour, which has made recent events very close as 11 of the last 13 champions have one by one shot or in a playoff. The other two champions, over that span were victorious by two shots.

Ten players have finished in the top-25 at this event at least twice over the last three years. Justin Rose has had much success at Copperhead finishing in the top 25 seven times in 10 starts, while Sergio Garcia has four finishes in the top 25 in his seven starts. Other notables taking part this week that are ranked in the top 10 in the world include Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed, Justin Thomas and Tyrrell Hatton.

Corey Conners (+2600) is well down the list as favorites to win this week, but has been on a tear of late. Putting has been the weak area of Connors game since turning pro but the Canadian has improved and has gained strokes on the green in each of the last five events. Final Pick, Corey Connors +2600
