The PGA Tour heads to Thousand Oaks, California and the Sherwood Country Club for the Zozo Championship. This tournament has normally been a Japanese-based event but because of the covid-19 pandemic the location was rescheduled to California. The 78-player field will be highlighted by several international players as well as the defending tournament champion, Tiger Woods.
Many of the top names in golf will play this week in Thousand Oaks. Woods will play his first tournament since the US Open, where he missed the cut. Dustin Johnson made a commitment to play at this year's Zozo Championship but did not play in last week's tournament after testing positive for covid-19 and his status for this tournament has not yet been announced. However, other players in the field include Xander Schauffele, Justin Thomas, Jon Rahm, Collin Morikawa, Rory McIlroy and Patrick Reed amongst others.
Sherwood Country Club is a 7,027-yard par 72 with fairways and rough of bentgrass and ryegrass and greens of bentgrass. The course consists of running streams, waterfalls and various unique rock formations. Each of the tee boxes has an excellent view and the fairways are lined with oak, sycamore and willow trees. The back nine on the course is quite unique with three par 3s, 3 par 4s and 3 par 5s.

Tiger Woods (+2800) is the defending champion of this tournament and will win for the second consecutive year. Although Woods has not had a good start to the 2020-21 PGA Tour season and missed the cut at the US Open, the veteran has won at this venue on five occasions and has finished runner-up another five times.
