The first major of the 2020 season is now behind us as Collin Morikawa was victorious in the PGA Championship on Sunday. This week is the final tournament before the start of the FedEx Cup playoffs, with the Wyndham Championship teeing off Thursday from Sedgefield Country Club. Several of the world's top-ranked players have opted to not play in this final tournament prior to the FedEx Cup playoffs.
However, included in the field are Patrick Reed, Paul Casey, Jordan Spieth, Tommy Fleetwood, Webb Simpson and Brooks Koepka. Other players that currently sit outside the top 125 qualifying spots for the FedEx Cup are taking part including Shane Lowry, Matt Wallace and Rafa Cabrera Bello.
The Sedgefield Country Club is a 7,117-yard par 70. Placement in the fairway of the tee is important to have an appropriate angle into the green. The greens are undulating and slope back to front. Several collection areas surround the edges of the greens and collect many shots that will roll off the edge.
Odds to Win 2020 Wyndham Championship
- Brooks Koepka +1000
- Webb Simpson +1000
- Tommy Fleetwood +1400
- Patrick Reed +1600
- Justin Rose +1800
- Paul Casey +1800
- Harris English +2600
- Abraham Ancer +2700
- Shane Lowry +2900
- Billy Horschel +3100
- Jordan Spieth +3400
- Brendon Todd +3700
- Sergio Garcia +4000
- Si Woo Kim +4200
- Sungjae Im +4200
Abraham Ancer opens with odds of +2700. The American-born Ancer grew up in Reynoso, Mexico and did not play well at TPC Harding Park in the PGA Championship. However, Ancer cannot be overlooked in this event starting Thursday. Ancer was second in June at the RBC Heritage in an event where the course and leaderboard will closely resemble that of the Wyndham Championship. Ancer is 13th in greens in regulation the last two months and fourth in strokes gained. Final Pick: Abraham Ancer +2700.
