2020 Rocket Mortgage Classic - PGA Odds, Picks & Betting Predictions

On July 2nd, the Robert Mortgage Classic will tee off from Detroit Golf Club as the PGA heads to Detroit, Michigan. This is just the second year for the Rocket Mortgage Classic as part of the PGA Tour. The tour’s protocols will continue related to the covid-19 outbreak, as fans will not be present to watch the event. The field for this event will be much weaker than the previous three events on tour, but nonetheless will have several of the world's best.
World No. 5 Webb Simpson, who won two weeks ago, will be the highest world ranked player in the field this week. However, other players in the top 40 in the world taking part this week include: Patrick Reed, Bryson Dechambeau, Tyrrell Hatton, Tony Finau, Sungjay Im, Hideki Matsuyama, Rickie Fowler, Kevin Na and Kevin Kisner. Reed finished last year’s event in fifth place, while Matsuyama was 13th. Other notables that will tee off on Thursday include Bubba Watson and Jason Day. The defending champion is Nate Lashley, who shot an impressive 25 under par.
Last year, in the inaugural event, 16 players shot 15 under par or better and in all 45 players were 10 under or better. The event is played on the longer North Course of the two courses at Detroit Golf Club and with tee boxes moved back plays at 7,334 yards and is a par-72 for this PGA event. The course has narrow, tree-lined fairways making club selection off the tee very important. In addition, several of the holes are dog-legged making it important to correctly shape shots both left and right.

Tyrrell Hatton (+1400) did not play in this past week's Travelers Championship but tied for third at Harbour Town in the RBC Heritage Classic the week before. Hatton nearly missed the cut after opening with an even-par 71 but was 20-under over the final 54 holes of the tournament. Hatton has finished 18th or better in eight of the last nine tournaments he has taken part in worldwide. Final Pick: Tyrrell Hatton +1400
