To start the day off, we have a very peculiar match-up: Team SoloMid vs. Immortals. Now, neither team is entering this clash with any kind of momentum seeing how they were both outclassed with relative ease mere days if not hours prior. Still, they have a chip on their shoulder and want to finish the fifth week of regular season play on a high note. There is, however, a stark difference between their two losses: TSM dropped a game to the defending champions Cloud9 — an understandable result given C9’s current level of play. Immortals, on the other hand, were beaten down by a (then winless) Team Dignitas. So in that sense, this is arguably a clash between a Top 3 challenger, and the worst team that North America has to offer.
Hardly enticing, you’ll agree.
Still, they have something to prove, and they’ll fight their hearts out to get the win. Team SoloMid is, of course, far more capable and dangerous, which is why we’re giving them our full benefit of the doubt. They’re simply better in every conceivable fashion, and the fact that they’ve dropped a game yesterday in no way diminishes their strength and long-term potential. They’re stacked from top to bottom and they have all the right tools to not only get the win against Immortals but also do it in commanding, one-sided fashion. That said, Immortals have multiple seasoned veterans within their line-up which means they could, in theory, make this a bit more competitive than most people expect. Either way, we should be in for a fun scrap.
