Team Liquid vs. 100 Thieves 7/19/20 - 2020 LCS Summer Split

No one expected Team Liquid to implode to such a staggering degree back in Spring. By the same token, no one expected them to be tied for first mere six weeks into Summer. But Liquid took their losses in stride; they went back to the drawing board, worked on their biggest flaws and are now looking like an absolute competitive behemoth. They’re still not perfect, mind you, but they’re darn close, at least by LCS standards. They’re clean, commanding, a lot more aggressive, and have some of the best laners in the West.

What’s not to like?

Conversely, 100 Thieves’ huge momentum wave after taking Cloud9 down last week was short-lived as they were outclassed by Team SoloMid two days ago with staggering ease. They still gave Ssumday agency, but it just wasn’t enough, with everyone else on the team severely underperforming. It’s pretty much impossible to gauge their overall strength at this point in time, given the fact that they’re both incredible and staggeringly mediocre all at once. You never really know which shade of 100 Thieves will come out and play, and that makes betting on (or against) them an absolute nightmare.

Still, Team Liquid has done more than enough to deserve our benefit of the doubt. While this is far from an easy game, they should be able to get the win.
