Overwatch League - San Francisco Shock vs Dallas Fuel 4/18/20 - Esports Picks, Odds, & Predictions
The Overwatch League continues to plow on despite the pandemic, which means we have yet another slew of exciting matches for this weekend. You might notice that there are a couple of familiar faces missing, and that’s because everyone’s still trying to adapt. In the meantime, Blizzard is organizing as many matches as they possibly can, which means a good number of teams are being left out. That’s just the reality of the situation, but it’s the best possible route at the moment.
If you’re a fan of Overwatch, these are exciting times, especially if you’re self-quarantining; we have something that can entertain us on a regular basis. First up, we’ll look at a fairly one-sided affair between the season two Overwatch League champions San Francisco Shock, a team that is favored to hoist the OWL trophy yet again, and Dallas Fuel, a talented albeit inherently flawed challenger.
The Shock's season didn't exactly develop as everyone expected, especially not after dropping both of their matches in week eight. Still, it seems they're back to their winning ways after demolishing both the Los Angeles Valiant and Los Angeles Gladiators over the last two weeks. They didn’t change their championship line-up and that’s a good thing because we know what they’re capable of.
On the other hand, the Fuel is definitely showing signs of life, in no small part due to Gamsu’s incredible tank play, but they lack the depth and potential which are necessary to actually trade blows with San Francisco. We’re siding with the former champions on this one as it’s the only logical choice.
