Overwatch League - Los Angeles Gladiators vs Toronto Defiant 4/4/20 - Esports Picks, Odds, & Predictions
To close out the week, we have a rather uneventful clash between the Los Angeles Gladiators and the Toronto Defiant. On the one hand, there’s not much to look forward to, but the odds are unexpectedly high for a match that’s bound to be a one-sided beatdown. Therefore, we shouldn’t miss out on any potential winnings.
The Gladiators, while inherently flawed, are better than people give them credit for. They’re not going to blow anyone away and they’re also not destined to fight for the Overwatch League trophy, but they’re more than solid enough to warrant the title of a mid-tier gatekeeper. They’re always competitive and their 3W-3L record tells the same tale.
Toronto, on the other hand, is one of the worst teams in the League — don’t let their solid record deceive you as they’ve accumulated easy wins over Boston and Washington. On paper there’s just not a lot to like and their play also leaves a lot to be desired. The Gladiators are much more talented and flexible as a unit and while they’re also flawed to the core, they have more than enough resilience and synergy to weather the storm and emerge victorious.
Because of this, we simply have to side with the Gladiators. That said, with Echo being thrown into the mix, Toronto might be able to make this series much more competitive than most people expect.
