The sight of Florida and Boston clashing against each other isn’t exactly top-tier Overwatch. Still, if you’re looking for a safe bet and a way to earn some extra money on the side, then you’ll be hard-pressed to find a more one-sided match-up.
Not only is this an uneven affair, but we’ve also seen it transpire last week. It was one of the quickest matches of the year with Florida dominating Boston in every conceivable fashion. Frankly, it wasn’t even enjoyable to watch. Boston only has a single win on the board and their eight losses tell you all you need to know when it comes to their overall strength and long-term potential. They’re just bad in every way, shape, and form, and there’s also very little reason for optimism. They won’t get any better as there’s a palpable skill ceiling looming above them.
Florida, on the other hand, are deceptively strong. They’re not exactly prepared to take on the upper echelon of the Overwatch League, but they’re also not a pushover. With a very talented line-up and more than enough grit and fortitude, this ragtag group of rejects and perennial underdogs are actually making a case for the underdog of the season nod. They are by no means perfect, but they’re playing unexpectedly well, especially for a team no one gave much thought coming into 2020.
We simply have to side with Florida on this one as it’s the only logical choice. History, in this case, will repeat itself, so expect a fairly one-sided, commanding win for the Mayhem.
