FunSpark ULTI Europe Finals 4/22/21 -Esports Picks & Predictions
Welcome to the FunSpark ULTI Europe Final! Funspark is a monthly tournament with a prize pool of $250,000! Some of the biggest teams are playing in this tournament! It's a double-elimination tournament with an upper and lower bracket.
For Today’s matches, we get 2 lower bracket games! At 8 am EST Virtus.Pro (-227) taking on HAVU (+172) and then at 11:30 am EST we get BIG Clan (-145) vs Evil Geniuses (+113). These are elimination matches today.
We will start with the 8 am EST game of VP and HAVU. VP is coming off a 2-0 upset loss to ForZe in round 1. Both maps were close and came to a double-overtime game on Overpass in map 2, finishing 25-23. VP is also coming off a disappointing end of ESL Pro League finishing 7th-8th and experiencing a 2nd place finish at Katowice in February. That being said, VP is a strong team and will rebound against HAVU today. On the other side, we have HAVU. HAVU is coming off a brutal beatdown against Complexity. Complexity is a top 10 team so we didn’t expect HAVU to win that matchup. Only xseveN had a rating of over 1.00 in that series. HAVU has struggled lately, even losing their last 3 series (CoL, SKADE, and Apeks) therefore I don’t expect much from HAVU tomorrow. I’m taking VP in this game to sweep at +143.

This next game should be a lot more competitive today. Starting at 11:30 am EST we get BIG vs EG. Both of these teams have been on the decline lately, whether it’s from bad form or lineup changes. Starting with BIG, they have dropped out of the HLTV top 10 rankings for the first time in over a year. BIG lost their first-round matchup to an up-and-coming Extra Salt team 2-1. XANTARES struggled badly in that match and BIG looked lost overall against ES. BIG has not won many games since winning their group BLAST in February. Since then, they have been knocked out early in Katowice and ESL Pro League. One team that can give BIG a run for their money in terms of doing nothing in the past couple of months is EG. EG has made 2 roster adjustments since the start of 2021, losing Ethan to Valorant and recently dropping Tarik a couple of days ago. With those roster changes, EG has made room for a return from oBo and MICHU to the CSGO scene. There is a lot of work to be done for this EG team to make it back to the top. EG lost in the first round to Dignitas 2-0 during FunSpark and it wasn’t close at all. For this matchup, I will be taking BIG. EG has a lot of work to do and I feel that, despite competing against a struggling BIG clan, they still will not be able to get the win.
