Evil Geniuses vs. Team Dignitas 7/26/20 - 2020 LCS Summer Split
To start the day off, we have a rather strange match-up: Evil Geniuses vs. Team Dignitas. Now, this is basically a David vs. Goliath kind of set-up, but it’s not without its allures. Dignitas have shown quite a fair bit of potential, but they haven’t been able to maintain a respectable level of play. They look great in one game and then just implode beyond reason in another. It all boils down to how well they start things off, and whether or not Dardoch and Fenix manage to impose their tempo early on.
You never really know which shade of Dignitas is going to show up, and their performances range from unexpectedly great to downright abysmal. With V1per in the top lane, it’s mostly been the latter. While they’re by no means expected to leave much of a mark, they should not be underestimated. With so many veterans aboard, they can certainly tango with the best teams the LCS has to offer. Whether they have what it takes to win, however, is a completely different matter.
Evil Geniuses, on the other hand, have exceeded expectations with their updated line-up (Huni and Goldenglue) and are looking mighty strong right now. They’re still flawed and far from perfect, but they’re reinvigorated nonetheless. If they keep playing this well, they’ll surely lock down a spot in the playoffs. They are by no means a competitive giant, but they’ve done more than enough to warrant our benefit of the doubt. They’re better than Dignitas across the board and they should, by all means, be able to emerge victorious in rather one-sided fashion.
