2020 LCS Summer Split, Cloud9 vs. 100 Thieves, June 14th
The 2020 LCS Summer Split is finally here, and with it comes a metric ton of competitive League of Legends. Now, frankly speaking, the North American region isn’t where the best and most incredible League tends to happen, but that doesn't mean there aren’t any exciting games to watch and exquisite narratives to follow.
In fact, on the contrary.
First up, we have a clash between the reigning LCS champions Cloud9 and a team that failed to leave much of a mark last split. It isn’t exactly a David vs. Goliath kind of set-up, but then again, whomever you put against Cloud9 tends to get obliterated in quick, one-sided fashion. 100 Thieves, as good and talented as they are, simply don’t have what it takes to compete at the same level. They’re not without their own tools and avenues for success (mainly the top and bottom lane), but they pale in comparison to a team of Cloud9’s caliber.
The boys in black and blue are just exceptional across the board and they have all the right tools to pull off yet another extremely dominant split. 100 Thieves might be able to trade blows early on, but once Cloud9 decide to kick things into high gear, they’re bound to overwhelm their opponents and get the win with relative ease. There’s just too much talent and potential stacked within their five-man line-up that it’s downright impossible to bet against them.
