Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Saskatchewan Roughriders 11/17/19 - CFL Picks & Predictions

On Sunday, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers visit Mosaic Stadium in Regina, Saskatchewan to play the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the West division final with the winner moving on to play in the Grey Cup. The Blue Bombers were 11-7 during the regular season. Winnipeg defeated the Calgary Stampeders in the West semifinal last Sunday 35-14. The Blue Bombers scored their share of points in the win, but it was the defense that characterized the victory.

The defense held the Stampeders scoreless in the second half, while the offense put up 27 points. Winnipeg’s defense pressured Calgary quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell relentlessly which resulted in Mitchell’s worst ever CFL game with 116 yards and one touchdown, but three interceptions. On offense, Zach Collaros shared duty at quarterback with Chris Streveler. The combination will try to accomplish the same results against the Roughriders.

Saskatchewan finished the regular season at 13-5 and the West champion. The Roughriders last played on November 2 and defeated the Edmonton Eskimos 23-13 in their final game of the regular season. Saskatchewan started the season slow losing three of its first four but finished strong going 12-2 over their final 14.

Cody Fajardo had a superb season at quarterback throwing for 4,302 yards with 18 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. William Powell led all Roughriders rushers with 1,093 yards and 12 touchdowns while Shaquelle Evans was the leader in receiving with 1,334 yards and five touchdowns. Solomon Elimimian led the Roughriders in tackles with 88, while Charleston Hughes led in quarterback sacks with 16.

Winnipeg has covered the number in 4 of its last 5 meetings against Saskatchewan and is coming off a superb defensive performance against second place Calgary. Head-to-head Saskatchewan owned the advantage this season going 2-1 straight up but 1-2 ATS against Winnipeg. The Roughriders won both games at home and lost in Winnipeg. Final Score Prediction, Saskatchewan Roughriders win but fall short ATS 24-22
