The Winnipeg Blue Bombers play the Montreal Alouettes on Sunday in the 2023 Grey Cup. Last season Winnipeg came up just short of three-peating when losing to Toronto in the Grey Cup after winning each of the previous two, but much of the same roster from last season returns including quarterback Zach Collaros and the Blue Bombers are heavy favorites in this game. Make sure you stay up to date with all the CFL action with our expert CFL picks.

Winnipeg battled with the BC Lions all season in the West division and defeated the Lions in the divisional finals to reach the Grey Cup. Winnipeg quarterback Collaros was the leader in the CFL in touchdown passes this season with 33 while passing for 4,252 yards and was intercepted 15 times. Winnipeg’s defense finished first in points and yards allowed per game.

Montreal had a mediocre regular season finishing 11-7 and had to play the Toronto Argonauts, who were 16-2 during the regular season, in the divisional finals. Montreal came up big with a 38-17 win after losing each of its three games during the regular season to Toronto. Montreal forced nine turnovers in the victory over the Argonauts but the Alouettes face a tougher task on Sunday against Winnipeg.

Montreal quarterback Cody Fajardo finished the regular season with 3,847 yards passing, 14 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Montreal's defense was third in the CFL during the regular season in yards allowed at 330.9 yards per game and gave up the second fewest points at 21.8 points per game which was only behind Winnipeg's 20.9 points per game.

Blue Bombers vs Alouettes Pick Analysis

Our Free CFL Pick for vs

Winnipeg was the most well-rounded team in the CFL this season despite not ending the season with the best overall record. Statistically the Blue Bombers were better than the rest. Winnipeg quarterback Zach Collaros was statistically the best as well. Montreal took advantage of mistakes made by Toronto to reach this Grey Cup and will not likely have the same advantage against a Winnipeg squad on Sunday. Winnipeg has plenty of experience in the Grey Cup having appeared in four straight and will use that and their advantage of having the best overall defense to lift the Cup on Sunday. Final Score Prediction, Winnipeg Blue Bombers win and cover ATS 31-20.
