Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Hamilton Tiger-Cats 12/12/21 - Grey Cup Pick & Predictions

Last Updated: 12/08/2021 at 11:19 AM ET

The 108th Grey Cup will kick off on Sunday at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada between the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Winnipeg finished the season 11-3 and scored more than any other team in the CFL averaging 26.3 points per game and allowed the fewest points per game at 13.4. However, Winnipeg struggled when not playing at home as the Blue Bombers were 7-0 at home and only 4-3 on the road.

Winnipeg defeated the Saskatchewan Roughriders 21-17 to win the West division despite six turnovers. This season quarterback Zack Collaros has passed for 3,185 yards with 20 touchdowns and six Interceptions. The running attack has been led by Andrew Harris with 623 yards and three touchdowns. Kenny Lawler is the leading receiver with 1,014 yards and six touchdown receptions while Nic Demski has 654 yards receiving  and four touchdown receptions.

Hamilton will be playing at home in this Grey Cup, which gives the Tiger-Cats a distinct advantage as Hamilton is 5-2 on its home field this season. Hamilton finished the regular season second in the East Division but defeated Toronto 27-19 in Toronto last Sunday to win the East division title. Hamilton has won six of its last seven, with only a loss to Toronto over that span but avenged that loss with its victory over Toronto last Sunday.

Quarterback Jeremiah Masoli has passed for 2,445 yards with 10 touchdowns and six interceptions. Sean Thomas Erlington was the leading rusher during the regular season with 356 yards and four touchdowns. The leading receiver was Tim White with 774 yards and two touchdown receptions and the second-leading receiver was Jaelon Acklin with 678 yards and four touchdowns.

This is expected to be a defensive struggle as both teams are stingly on defense. Winnipeg has allowed an average of only 13.4 points per game this season and Hamilton an average of only 17.4 points per game. In the opening game of the regular season, these two combined to score just 25 points with Winnipeg winning 19-6. Hamilton will lift its first Grey Cup since 1999 with a victory on Sunday, but the play here is UNDER. The UNDER has cashed in 21 of the last 27 meetings between the two played in Hamilton and cashed in the opening game of the regular season when the two combined to score just 25 on a closing line of 49.5. Final Score Prediction, Hamilton Tiger-Cats win but our best play is UNDER 23-19.
