Following a difficult 7-11 season, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats start off 2017 against their closest geographical rival, the Toronto Argonauts. Coming off a season in which he threw for over 2900 yards and 18 touchdowns, veteran Zach Collaros once again is behind center for the Tiger-Cats.

Veteran Luke Tasker, son of Ex Buffalo Bill Steve, is a top receiver for the Ti-Cats and caught 76 passes for 852 yards last season. Terrance Toliver broke out towards the end of last season for Hamilton and will be counted on heavily in 2017 after catching 65 passes for 1036 yards and 9 touchdowns last season. The Tiger-Cats are hoping for an injury free season from Running Back C. J. Gable to open up their offense.
After allowing a league high 568 points last season and finishing 5-13, the Toronto Argonauts are hoping for improvement on both sides of the ball in 2017. Thirty Seven year old Ricky Ray is the man behind center for the Argos and will hopefully improve on his 2016 numbers in which he threw for only 2400 yards.

The Argonauts enter 2017 with one of the most untested receiving corps in the entire CFL. EX-NFL Veterans DeVier Posey and Armanti Edwards are the top targets for Ricky Ray but lack experience with the CFL Game. Having Running Back Brandon Whitaker healthy for the entire season will greatly help the Argonauts on offense.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats -3.5

With Toronto moving into their new home field of BMO Field but even that emotion won't be enough to beat Hamilton. Former Argonauts star and MVP Chad Owens is starting his first season with rival Hamilton and think that is just enough to get road win to kick-off this CFL Season for both. Final Score Prediction, Hamilton Tiger-Cats win and cover ATS 27-22.
