On Friday, the Saskatchewan Roughriders head to British Columbia to take on the BC Lions in a Week 19 CFL showdown. The Roughriders lost to the Calgary Stampeders in their most recent outing on Friday 30-28. The loss dropped the Roughriders out of first place in the West and Calgary leapfrogged them into first. Cody Fajardo passed for 209 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the loss.
BC lost its most recent game 19-6 to the Edmonton Eskimos on Saturday. Quarterback Mike Reilly went down with a broken wrist on his non-throwing arm and BC did little after that on offense. Danny O’Brien took over for the Lions and completed 12 of 23 passes for 103 yards with one interception. Sergio Castillo kicked two field goals in the loss for BC.
Cody Fajardo leads the Roughriders in passing with 3,649 yards, 15 touchdowns and eight interceptions. The leading rusher for Saskatchewan is William Powell with 886 yards and 11 touchdowns. Shaquelle Evans leads the Roughriders in receiving with 1,112 yards and five touchdowns, while Kyran Moore is second with 759 yards and four touchdowns.
Danny O’Brien has thrown for 110 yards and one interception for the Lions. The leading rusher for the Lions is John White with 922 yards and seven touchdowns. Bryan Burnham leads all receivers for the Lions with 1,329 yards and nine touchdowns, while Lemar Durant has 810 yards receiving and five touchdowns.
