Following a solid victory over Toronto to open up the 2018 season, the Saskatchewan Roughriders (1-0) travel to Ottawa to battle the Ottawa Redblacks. While Quarterback Zach Collaros only had modest numbers to open up the season (18 for 25 passing, 203 yards, 1 touchdown) he appears to be the field general the Roughriders need.
The Roughriders passing game was quiet in Week 1, but did receive solid contributions from Caleb Holley (2 receptions, 47 yards) and Duron Carter (3 receptions, 36 yards). Jerome Messam was solid in his Roughrider debut and managed 72 yards on the ground on 21 carries. Naaman Roosevelt scored the Roughriders lone offensive touchdown in Week 1 on a pass from Zach Collaros.
Following an 8-9-1 season last year, the Ottawa Redblacks open up the 2018 campaign with a battle against Saskatchewan. Trevor Harris is once again the man under center for Ottawa after throwing for 4679 yards, 30 touchdowns and 11 interceptions last season.
Harris has an excellent receiving corps to throw the ball to this year. Greg Ellingson was fantastic last season and caught 96 passes for 1459 yards and 12 touchdowns. Brad Sinopoli (91 receptions, 1009 yards, 3 touchdowns) and Diontae Spencer (71 receptions, 922 yards, 6 touchdowns) are additional receiving threats for Ottawa. William Powell is a solid running back for Ottawa and is coming off a 2017 season in which he ran for 1026 yards and 5 touchdowns on 173 carries.
