Following a 10-8 season in 2016, the Edmonton Eskimos head to Vancouver to battle the B.C. Lions in a game which figures to feature plenty of fireworks on offense. Mike Reilly threw for over 5,500 yards and 28 touchdowns last season and leads one of the most potent aerial attacks in all of Canada.
Adarius Bowman is arguably the top receiver, if not player in the CFL, and is the player to watch for Edmonton. Bowman caught 120 passes for 1761 yards and 9 touchdowns last year, and figures to improve on those numbers this year with Derrel Walker's departure to the Tampa Bay Bucs. Vidal Hazelton who has struggled with consistency in his previous CFL stops will take over for Walker and will try to improve on the paltry 27 receptions he had for Toronto last year. Running Back John White is one of the top all purpose threats in the CFL and will once again feature in the Eskimos offense.
After finishing 12-6 last season the B.C. Lions are attempting to catch Calgary in the CFL's Western Division. A win against rival Edmonton would be a positive step in that direction.
Quarterback Jonathon Jennings is one of the top all purpose threats in the league and threw for over 5200 yards last season. Wide Receiver Chris Williams was outstanding for Ottawa last year and figures to be Jennings' top target. Running Back Jeremiah Johnson formerly of the Denver Broncos is another important part of the Lions Attack.
