On Thursday, the Edmonton Elks visit the BC Lions in a CFL showdown. Edmonton was defeated by the Montreal Alouettes 30-13 last Saturday and is 0-2 on the season. Edmonton wide receiver Shai Ross played well in the loss with three receptions for 35 yards and a touchdown reception while running back James Wilder Jr. rushed for 85 yards. Edmonton quarterback Trevor Harris passed for 233 yards and one touchdown.
Trevor Harris has passed for 566 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions through the first two games of the regular season. Derel Walker is the leading receiver with 13 receptions for 174 yards the leading rusher is James Wilder Jr. with 30 carries for 174 yards and a 5.8-yard per carry average.
The BC Lions defeated Calgary 15-9 in Week 2 of the CFL to level their record at 1-1. BC’s defense was the key as the Lions had four interceptions in the victory. Michael Reilly connected on an early 65-yard reception to Bryan Burnham that set up a BC field goal and finished the game with 342 yards passing. Burnham was the leading receiver with 121 yards and Lucky Whitehead had 108 yards receiving.
Michael Reilly has passed for 545 yards and one touchdown through the first two games of the season. Lucky Whitehead is the leading receiver with 11 receptions for 244 yards and one touchdown, while Bryan Burnham has caught 11 passes for 213 yards and one touchdown. James Butler is the leading rusher for BC with 19 carries for 61 yards and an average of 3.2 yards per carry.
