The Calgary Stampeders visit the Montreal Alouettes on Saturday in a CFL showdown. Calgary won its fourth straight on September 20 after defeating Ottawa 23-17 and enjoyed a bye week this past week. Bo Levi Mitchell returned under center for Calgary and threw for 342 yard, one touchdown and two interceptions. Although several players missed due to injuries, the Stampeders gutted out the win. Calgary is 9-4 on the season.
Montreal lost to BC on Saturday 25-23. The Alouettes were led in the loss by backup quarterback Matt Shiltz. While Shiltz did not pass for many yards, the explosiveness of his running ability was evident as he picked up chunks of yards on several running plays. Montreal’s offense finished with 425 yards in the loss and Shiltz impressed many under center.
Bo Levi Mitchell has thrown for 1,732 yards, 8 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Ka’Deem Carey has rushed for 422 yards and two touchdowns. Reginald Begelton has 72 receptions for 1,036 yards and seven touchdowns, while Eric Rogers has 65 receptions for 797 yards receiving and eight touchdowns.
Vernon Adams Jr. has passed for 2,953 yards, 15 touchdowns and eight interceptions. The leading rusher for the Alouettes is William Stanback with 125 carries for 748 yards and five touchdowns. Eugene Lewis leads all receivers with 50 receptions for 792 yards and four touchdowns, while DeVier Posey has caught 43 passes for 671 yards and two touchdowns.
