Argonauts at Rough Riders 6/15/18 - CFL Picks & Predictions

Following a season in which they surprisingly won the Grey Cup, the Toronto Argonauts kick off the 2018 campaign in Saskatechwan against the Roughriders. Ageless quarterback Ricky Ray returns for the Argonauts after throwing for 5546 yards, 28 touchdowns and just 11 interceptions last season.

Ray will have plenty of targets to throw the ball to in 2018. S.J. Green was outstanding for Toronto last season after missing all of 2016 with an injury. Green lead the Argos in receiving with 104 receptions for 1462 yards and 10 touchdowns. Armanti Edwards also returns for the Argonauts and caught 83 passes for 962 yards and 4 touchdowns last season. James Wilder Jr. returns to lead the Argonauts rushing attack after rushing for 872 yards and 5 touchdowns on 122 carries in 2017. Following a season in which they went 10-8 and made the playoffs, the Saskatchewan Roughriders have hopes for 2018. The Roughriders open the season against the defending Grey Cup Champion Toronto Argonauts.

The Quarterback situation is currently unsettled for the Roughriders. Brandon Bridge who performed admirably in limited duty for the Roughriders and Zach Collaros who was acquired in the offseason from Hamilton are in a tough competition for the job. Either quarterback will rely on veteran receivers Naaman Roosevelt (75 receptions, 1035 yards, 8 touchdowns) and Duron Carter (73 receptions, 1043 yards, 8 touchdowns) who were both solid in 2018.
