On Friday, the Toronto Argonauts visit the Montreal Alouettes in a CFL Week 19 showdown. The Argonauts defeated the Ottawa RedBlacks on Friday 28-21 at home. McLeod Bethel-Thompson threw two touchdowns passes while S.J. Green gained 170 yards receiving helping to snap Toronto’s three-game losing streak. The win was the first under new General Manager Michael Clemons.
Montreal took it on the chin Saturday after losing to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 35-24. In the loss, Mario Alford ran a kickoff back 90 yards for a touchdown for Montreal. The loss by Montreal allowed Hamilton to clinch the East Division. Vernon Adams Jr. threw four interceptions in the loss for the Alouettes.
McLeod Bethel-Thompson leads Toronto with 3,484 yards passing, 22 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. James Wilder Jr. has 405 yards rushing and one touchdown to lead the Argonauts. Derel Walker leads Toronto in receiving with 1,040 yards and six touchdowns, while S.J. Green has 897 yards receiving and three touchdowns.
Montreal’s Vernon Adams Jr. has thrown for 3,425 yards, 17 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. The leading rusher for Montreal is William Stanback with 954 yards and five touchdowns. Eugene Lewis is the leading receiver with 937 yards and four touchdowns, while Quan Bray has 740 yards and four touchdowns.
