Mateusz Gamrot vs Dan Hooker Picks and Prediction – 8/18/2024

Rac Arena in Perth will welcome a lightweight battle Saturday between Mateusz Gamrot and Dan Hooker.  Mateusz Gamrot will make the walk Saturday for the 28th time as a professional. Gamrot has had a solid professional career having amassed 24 wins 2 losses and won no contest since turning pro in 2012. Saturday will mark the 10th time Gamrot has stepped into the UFC cage where he is 7-2 overall. With 13 victories via the finish for Gamrot eight have come via the knockout with the last being in September of 2023. Gamrot comes into Saturday running hot having won seven of his last eight including three in a row following a decision win against Rafael dos Anjos in March of this year at UFC 299.

Dan Hooker is a 34 year old professional fighter as Saturday will mark the 36th professional fight of his career. Hooker has also spent time as a professional kickboxer having amassed nine wins and one loss with five knockouts. Dan Hooker became a professional MMA fighter in 2009 and has obtained a Brazilian jujitsu purple belt in that time. Hooker stands at six foot tall and weighs 156 lbs having fought as a featherweight and lightweight during his professional tenure.

Saturday will mark the 22nd time Dan has stepped into the UFC Octagon where he has amassed 13 wins and eight losses. Hooker has 18 finishes in his 23 wins with the last coming in November of 2022 following a body kick knockout against Claudio Puelles.
